The Hagerstown & Frederick Trolley Trail Association (HFTTA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Thurmont, MD dedicated to connecting and enriching the town of Thurmont and the surrounding communities.
Our goal is to extend the existing Thurmont Trolley Trail within Thurmont and beyond into Frederick County, following the original H&F Railroad line and connecting multiple neighboring communities and historical sites.
The benefits that our community would gain from a multi-use trail are immeasurable. Not only do trails provide safe places for citizens to exercise and relax, they also possess huge potential for economic benefit. Hikers, cyclists, and other users will begin making Thurmont and the surrounding towns a more common destination. While they are in the area, they will visit restaurants, buy gas and visit local shops.
In addition, this trail offers a great option for people to exercise and improve their health, which benefits everyone in the long run.
